CR74 - Safeguarding Policy and Procedure

This policy outlines the safeguarding processes a domiciliary care service should follow. It has been reviewed with minimal change and has been updated in line with the NICE Safeguarding Adults Guidance. References have also been updated to ensure they remain current. The policy has been reviewed with the Guide for Staff form updated to include ability to cite local contact details within the leaflet.

CR85 - Equality and Human Rights Policy and Procedure

Human rights underpin all interactions in health and social care and this policy will support a service to meet the legal requirements of maintaining a service user’s human rights. This policy has been reviewed and references checked to ensure they remain current.

CM44 - Overarching Medication Policy and Procedure

This policy has been reviewed and details the medication support provided by a service. It should be read in conjunction with the suite of medication policies and procedure on the QCS management system. References have also been updated to ensure they remain current.

CR88 - Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005 Policy and Procedure

This policy has been updated to include the addition of third party legal responsibilities, roles and responsibilities of staff and managers, addition of headings, removal of additional paragraphs on restraint and deprivation of liberty. Clarity on best interest and assessment.

PR36 - Recruitment Policy and Procedure

This policy will support in the recruitment process. It has been reviewed and the ‘References’ section of the application form updated. More information has also been added to procedural section 5.13 to ensure satisfactory evidence is obtained where someone has worked in the sector previously as per the regulations. The Underpinning Knowledge and Further Reading reference links have also been reviewed and updated.

QC28 - Good Governance Policy and Procedure

This policy outlines good governance and how a service can continually improve through monitoring and audits. It has been reviewed to include reference to the CQC’s way of assessing from August 2021 and includes a new policy statement (4.6) and reference to highlight this within the policy. Existing references also checked to ensure they remain current.

QQ79 - Complaints, Suggestions and Compliments Policy and Procedure

This policy will support staff in dealing with complaints, suggestions and compliments that are received about the service. It has been reviewed with a new section added in relation to vexatious complaints and what the service should do if these arise. A new definition has been included and references have also been checked to ensure they remain current.

QQ87 - Quality and Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure

This policy has been reviewed with minor amendments to the content. Although no imminent changes to practice are required, it would be beneficial for staff responsible for quality assurance or the audit process to review the GOV.UK document. Underpinning Knowledge links and Further Reading links have been reviewed and updated to ensure they remain current.
